| Nadine Newell is a Connecticut artist who finds her inspiration in the landscapes and objects that are part of her life. She likes to paint old barns with their weathered textures and play of light and shadows on the wood and windows; or rolling hills with the colors of the seasons; or the beautiful face of a grazing cow; or the funny antics of a pen of chickens. All enter into the thoughts behind her paintings."I see something in nature that I think is really great, and I try to capture that on canvas for someone else's enjoyment". Her style is a unique blend of realism with a touch of impressionism. Although Nadine has worked in a variety of media, she is now focusing exclusively on oils to exploit her precision brushwork and eye for color. She studied for many years with Naugatuck artist Judy Jaworski and then continued to evolve as an artist by working on her own, trying new techniques and media. She also studied with Richard Kenerson, a colored pencil artist, in Washington, CT. Nadine is a member of the Watertown Art League, SCAN of Newtown and has been a member for over ten years of the Fine Line Art Gallery.
